Our Craft Lounge.....

....is the sponsor for Scrap & Stamp this week! Their stamps are just adorable and I decided to pair their OCL pooch with mine. I colored him in with my Copics and added a bit of Crystal Effects for his nose. (cuz, we all know that dogs' noses are wet!) I think he looks a bit like my dog, doesn't he? : ) I kept the LO fairly simple and uncluttered so the focus was on his cute furry face.! The title was done with my new font from Quickutz called Candy Shoppe.

I just love this furry little guy! : )

Don't forget to head on over to Scrap & Stamp to play along with our theme this week.....Love is in the Air. You don't have to own any OCL stamps to play and of course there are prizes to be won!

Since my house wasn't messy enough from redoing the scrap room, my hubby and I decided to redo Kyle's room on top of it. (Apparently we are glutens for punishment!) We have scraped most of the wall paper (yes, I think we've wallpapered every room in the house.....it was in, in the 90's!) and today we are hoping to spackle all the holes in the wall. Hopefully, we will be ready to prime them tomorrow.
I will take pics of my room soon......I am just waiting for a few more things to get done in there!
As always, I appreciate you stopping by my little corner of the world! HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!

Back to School & Blog Candy!

I can't believe how busy life seems to have gotten these last couple of weeks. I am seriously whooped by the end of the day and can't seem to muster a whole lot energy to blog or do anything crafty. I actually get mad at myself for being so tired. I want to do creative things, and then feel guilty about not creating......cuz I am so beat! Isn't that ridiculous? I am hoping once life settles into a routine that my energy will return and my projects will start flowing!

This week over Noel Mignon's Challenge Blog, the DT was to create a school themed LO. I chose this picture of Cortney starting her first day, last year, at Elim Christian School. She is so blessed to go to a school where the staff truly loves and cares about her. I always say it is like the show "Cheers." It's the place where everybody knows her name. She wheels in and every single staff member, whether they service her or not, says hello to her. She is so incredibly happy there, which in turn makes me a very happy mama!

I used Noel's Homeroom kit from last year. I used the little library pocket to include some of Cort's favorite things in school and some of her IEP goals that she accomplished.

I had a difficult time photographing this because the polka dot transparency was picking up my reflection when I was taking the picture. So I apologize that it's a bit wonky! : )
Don't forget to go HERE and scroll down a bit for your chance to win some blog candy!
Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit! It is so appreciated! (And that means my family too....who check on me everyday! : )

Crafty Secrets and Bitten by the Bug Blog Hops & Blog Candy!

I have so much to share with you today! I have two blog hops today......the first one is for Crafty Secrets. The design team used the fabulous new post card kits in such beautiful and creative ways. I decided to incorporate the Story Time postcard kit into a cornet. I love these and have been having so much fun making them! I used some fall foliage, Graphic 45 paper, and some miscellaneous trinkets. Some of my items were getting lost in the cornet, so I hot glued them to wooden skewers that you buy at the grocery store. Then I could vary the heights of my items. (Domino, clock face etc)

(Did you see a peek of my hot pink scrap room?) : )
The postcard kits come with a set of stamps to decorate with as well. I used them on the back of the postcard. Then the back of it is pretty too! : )

Make sure you check out the rest of the Crafty Secret's Design Team. They are sure to knock your socks off!
Today is also our Bitten by the Bug blog hop. We were to use the ribbon cut from the Paper Pups cartridge. (Which BTW, I got my new Cricut Expression a few days ago.....let me just tell you how much I LOVE my new machine!) I decided to create a fall card. I guess it is because it has been cool here in Chicago and summer seems to have ended. I used Melissa Frances paper and a sticker for the center of the ribbon. I used my Nesties and some leaves tied with a button and twine.

Since I have been cleaning and painting my scrap room for the past 2 weeks, I have some stuff, aka.......... blog candy that I'd like to pass on to one lucky winner. All you have to do is leave me some love on the blog..... : ) Kyle will pick one winner on Thursday night. Make sure you hop on over to Regina's blog next!
And for those of you asking about my scrap room. It is nearly done. It just need curtains which my wonderful MIL is making for me. (Hugs to her!) I might also switch out a table I have in my room for a different counter.....not sure yet. I will take pics soon!
Thanks for sticking with me in this VERY long post today!
