Dog-Gone Awesome!

Good morning!
Congrats to Margaret Rajca for taking advantage of Rodan + Field's bundle! She will receive the egg carton full of goodies! :)

Today I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog with another doggy card using this adorable Whipper Snapper image.  I have been on quite the coloring kick lately!  I did a bit of "stippling" on the grass. I used my Mini Misti to line up the sentiment.  (Otherwise mine were ALWAYS wonky!)
I used Scrapbook Adhesives Crafty Foam Tape between layers for added dimension and Dodz-Mini to adhere the sequins and keep the bow in place.

I love this plaid paper from Lawn Fawn too! So bright and springy!

I am really glad it is Friday.....and can't wait to kick back a bit this weekend!
Any plans for you?  Anything fun and exciting?

Egg Carton and Freebies!

Good morning my crafty friends!
I have a giveaway for the next three days! I am giving away some sample skin care products from Rodan + Fields!
A little back story.......

I hated my skin.
Yep...hated!
I suffered from acne into my adulthood...then got wrinkles and large pores.  Oh! And a very irritated red chin on top of all that gloriousness I just mentioned!
I spent tons and tons of money over the years and basically flushed hundreds....oh let's get real, it was probably thousands of dollars, down the toilet!
I decided to take a leap of faith last July when a friend of mine recommended Rodan + Fields.
I was skeptical.
Very skeptical.
But they offered a 60 day money back guarantee...so I figured what the heck! I might as well try this too! (At this point, I thought what do I have to lose? )
And guess what?
It worked!
I started to see clearer, acne free skin. Pores shrunk. Redness slowly disappeared from my chin.
Wrinkles were softer, under eye bags disappeared!
THREE random strangers have commented over the past 6 months,  how beautiful my skin looks!
Seriously! ME!? How crazy was that?
So I did what any other smart gal would do.....I joined the business and became a consultant!
I am so excited to share this skin care with you!
Rodan + Fields has a crazy good sale until Wednesday, March 9th that combines a skin care regimen and their new product Lash Boost.  (Which is freaking awesome stuff! A swipe a night on each eye lid and you get longer, thicker, and darker lashes! See the "before and after" pics below)
If you sign up as a preferred customer, you will save an extra 10% (giving a total savings of 30%), free shipping, and THIS below!
I have FOUR of these egg cartons to give away over the next 3 days for new customers!   Please e-mail me today for either more information, to be signed up as a preferred customer, or to join me in this wonderful, fast growing business!

Now this is really combining my two loves......crafting and skin care! ;)
Have a beautiful day my friends!

Copic Perfection

I've been crafting a fairly long time. And if you were to look in my craft room, you'd think I'd been doing it for 80 years!  (Think 100 lbs of crap in a 1 lb container!) But there are so many areas I keep trying to improve in.  Copic coloring is one. So I watch videos.  Like tons of them...because I think I have a "coloring video" addiction.
I then run up to my craft room and practice what I just learned.  In this case it was the flicking motion to create fur on this Furry Friends stamp from Avery Elle. I used several shades of gray here for this cute little pup.
Then there is this pesky light source issue I seem to be challenged with as well.  Never quite sure if I have the dark and light areas correct.
Then I remember that this is supposed to be fun. And really, is the recipient going to be looking for where the light source was on my card? Or how great I "flicked?"
Well maybe...if it's a fellow crafter.  So maybe that means I only send my cards to noncrafters.  LOL!
Anyway, I was pretty happy with my little card.  I still have tons more to learn...but I think that is the fun part of it.  Always getting better...always trying new things.
Gotta run!
Time to watch another coloring video! ;)

Walk by Faith

Hi everyone!  I am sharing a card that I created for the SRM Blog using a brand new stamp set called, Walk by Faith.  I stamped the gym shoes in Versamark on water color paper.  I embossed it in white.  I added color using my Zig Clean Color Markers.
I tied some charcoal twine vertically and added a pink felt star to the center.  The sentiment was stamped in black and given a few white highlights with SRM's Reminisce gel pen
My life has been busy (as usual) with Cort's one year meeting at Misericordia.  Brian and I were just asked to serve on the board.  Exciting...but a bit overwhelming. My life has been like a pendulum swinging all over....so many changes this past year.  Sometimes I have to take a deep breath and remember it's all good.  But sometimes I long for the old routine and comfort.
So I guess maybe I need to take my card's advice.......and walk by faith....

Love Notes

Good morning!  I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesive's Blog today with a collection of love notes.
When my kids were little I used to put them in their lunches as a reminder of how much I love them.  Now I have a son in college and a daughter living at Misericordia.  Which means I have to mail them...and when I mail one to my son, he immediately opens it looking for money! LOL!
Cortney just likes my pictures and coloring. :)
I have even been known to slip one in my husband's lunch too.
That's just how I roll.
love you notecards
The stamp set is from Jane's Doodles and each image was stamped in black ink and colored with Copics.  I used a circle Tattered Angels die to cut the image.  I used a bit of black twine to thread it through.  I added a sweet little felt heart to the center of my bow from this cute Etsy shop.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and embossed in white for each of the sentiments.

The background was given a a water color wash in shades of blue using my Zig markers. Once everything was dry, I used Crafty Foam Tape for each of the layers to make it dimensional.
The Dual Tip Glue Pen was used to adhere the sequins.

The cards are small...just 3 x 3 in size.  But big enough to remind those around you how much you care about them!

Cortney is coming home for the weekend.  It is hard to believe that she just celebrated her one year anniversary at Misericordia. It is truly bitter sweet. So she has a few doctors to see and we have her meeting on Monday.  (Similar to an IEP meeting)
I am so happy to spend a bit of time with her!
We have our fun fair at school tonight and she is super excited to go with me and see all of her favorite teachers!
Have a great weekend my friends!

Puppy Love!

Good morning! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!
The weather here in Chicago was glorious! Brian and I went on a 9 mile bike ride through forest preserves.  It felt so wonderful to soak up the sunshine!
I even had a bit of time to craft in the evenings.  I borrowed this cute Whipper Snapper stamp from my Mother in Law.  I colored it with Copic markers.
I created some "fur" for my pup using quick short brush strokes.  I used Spellbinder's dies to create the round card.  Added Wink of Stella to my hearts and tied a bit of green gingham ribbon to the top!
I am off today and it is still near 70 degrees.  I am going to take advantage of the warmth and get outside a bit!
Enjoy your day!

Be Mine!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I have a Suzy Plantamura image today to share!
It was part of the Love Notes collection and  I colored it using my Zig Watercolor Markers.
I colored each in a gradient of color for more interest.
I added shadows to each of the hearts and words using several gray Copic markers.  I also used a white gel pen to add some fun highlights and details to the words.
As a final touch I added glossy accents to give it lots of dimension and tied some pink twine to the top!
Valentine's Day at school is always a bit rowdy....but super sweet.  The kids will often write notes in their Valentines to me.  It always reminds me how much I impact their young lives and why I got into teaching in the first place.
:)
Enjoy your day today!!
Sweet wishes to all of you!
