I Dream......

The thing I love about scrapbooking is that it captures not only pictures at that very moment you snap the camera, but the emotions that go with it. I have many beautiful pictures of my kids. But sometimes the pictures are more than just a picture snapped at their birthday party or at a holiday function. Sometimes they stir emotions inside of us. As you already know, Cort is mentally and physically challenged, and as much as I adore her, there is still a part of me that wonders what kind of a person she would have been if she weren't disabled. I can't help myself sometimes. So rather than denying those feelings, I scrapped them.

Journaling reads:
I dream of the girl that should have been. When I allow myself to. It is painful to go there, and I don' t often. I wonder if she would have been athletic, an actress, or on the honor roll? Would she be constantly connected to her cell phone like most girls her age? Would she be graceful? Would she be confident? Would she be interested in boys already? Would she be as happy as she is right now? When I look at the smiling face, I dream of what could have been..........but wasn't.

Michele, this is such a touching layout, especially with the sentiment. It goes straight to the heart.

You have shared so many moments with your daughter through the layouts you have posted. She looks like a happy, cheerful little girl who is growing up.

Take care my friend.
