Cort's Prom Dress....

I had a bit of a photo shoot with Cortney's prom dress this morning. I want to soak in all of it....from the pretty dress, to the jewelry, to her cute "boyfriend" holding her hand, to my girl's beautiful self in this dress. I will never have the luxury of seeing her get married or hold a child of her own someday....so I want...need to take in all of the things she can do. My heart gets torn in a million directions.....

There is a bit of magic in this dress........*sigh*
Prom is a right of passage and I am so glad her school give these kids an opportunity to experience it.....
Have a wonderful day and be sure to check back tomorrow for some new releases from JustRite!
Hugs!

Oh Michele, what a "beautiful" dress and I know your sweet daughter is going to look so "beautiful" in it. What a wonderful memory you are saving. Life is so short, and we should all be counting our blessings. And GOD has given you such an amazing blessing in your daughter, I can't wait to see her in this "magical" dress- hugs from Ukiah

What a gorgeous dress! My 16 yr old daughter LOVES it!
Your poignant post brought tears to my eyes. We've recently had some drama with our daughter, and although she doesn't face the same challenges as your sweet girl, I've been reminded that none of us know what the future holds for our children. So we pray, right? That's what we moms do best, I think.
Enjoy every moment of your darling's prom - I look forward to photos :-)

This dress is amazing and your daughter is going to look beautiful in it! Although we have never met, I can tell you are a wonderful mother. I hope your daughter has a great time at her prom!

One mom to another "I feel you..." The dress is simply divine. Can't wait to see your daughter in it! My 2 besties both have one child with autism and express these types of feelings often. Everyone has a master plan for their children. It's heart breaking to not see that realized. But from your posts, I see that you Treasure what you do have, which is a lot, and we all out here in craft land love to see it. Enjoy your prom night! You earned it.

Support and love from me to you...

Michele, your beautiful daughter is so lucky to have a mother like you. I too am so happy that her school holds these kinds of events for thier Special Needs children. I worked for 20 years with these precious children and their families in Virginia and now have a grandson with Special Needs. We were so surprised and shocked by his diagnosis, but he is do very dear to us and brings so much joy to our family. I hope that Cort has a wonderful time at the prom and look forward to pictures of her in her gown.
Hugs, Karen

the dress is MAGICAL!!! How beautiful! She will be the belle of the ball!
Michele, I've not lost a child-but I have lost a husband--y soul mate. Our lives were so different after "cancer" entered our world...you learn real fast what is REALLY important in life (pretty prom dresses!) I feel some of what you deal with--the bitter and the sweet--BLESS YOU for the joys you are giving her--the memories you are making--the smiles you share...keep the focus on the now...5 minutes (or even less---)at a time if that's what it takes-and live them to the fullest. Do not let the struggles (or satan) steal your joy...the angels above will help you through... Can't wait to see the prom pictures! Please post them soon! Blessings, Sharon

that paper chair creation is so special. I have been paper crafting this past week, making cards. It hurts to use my cutter though as I had a little accident last week that gave me some cracked ribs. Ouch! but I am getting some crafting and sewing done. Have a great week!

Michele, you are an amazing mother. Reading your posts often bring me to tears. Courtney is so blessed to have you. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to know that she will not get to experience all of the lifetime milestones, but I'm so happy she she we be able to attend the prom and to have these memories. I'm sure that via your scrapbooks you will both be able to relive these special memories together for a lifetime.
