Snowfall in June?

Nothing like having a beachy themed LO on monday, and a snowy card today! I guess that kind of fits with living in Chicago, where the temps can fluctuate from 98 degrees one day to 54 the next! ; )
JustRite is releasing their new sets this week and this one called, Snowfall, is beautiful.  I decided to use a sort of "Spotlighting" technique on it.  I stamped it with Versamark and white embossing powder, but then also stamped it with pink, blue, and purple die inks.  I used 2 sizes of circle punch to punch several circles and layer them over the white background.  I think it makes for a neat effect!
The flowers and felt "leaves" are by Prima.  I coated the leaves with Stickles to give it a bit of sparkle. I also  added a bit seam binding tied with a thin white string. The sentiment is part of the Large Fancy Holiday Sentiments.  I absolutely LOVE the font used in this set!
I added a few pearls too. : )

Here is a  peek at the two sets!

Be sure to visit the other gals and see what they've created with these beautiful sets!

I am off to get caught up on a lot of things that were left neglected in my house.....it IS the first day of summer vacation! ; )
Have a great day!!!

Summer Vacation

Good morning to you all! I am in the home stretch until summer vacation! Just two more days! I am so looking forward to the slower paced summer days. No schedules, no running around like chickens, no homework.......

Last year my family and I went to Jamaica and loved these pictures of Kyle. I decided to scrap 'em using my Cricut and the Life's a Beach Cartridge. I added a few special touches to my LO....like brown flock to the coconuts....googly eyes...glitter....a bit of Copic marker to add depth....and popped up elements.

Makes ya want an umbrella drink, doesn't it? ; )

I have a special album just for my Jamaica trip....and this was placed in there.
I hope you enjoy your Monday!  Thank you for stopping by!

The Other Shoe...

Shoes come in pairs right? So I "needed" to make another shoe to its counterpart....seen HERE! I am in love with these shoes from the Princess Party Cartridge. If I have a birthday/pool party this summer for Cortney, I think I will make a bunch for the girls and fill them up with lip glosses and such. They are so easy to make and dress up!

To embellish the back of the shoe I used the Cricut Craft Room Exclusive, 3-D Bows.  I inked the edges, applied glossy accents, gave it a good dose of glitter, and added a pearl to the center.
I added one of those paper bows to the front too, along with a silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply Store

And of course the trick to a pretty paper shoe, is to use double sided paper.

I am so glad it's Friday!  My hubby and I are going out tonight for a belated anniversary celebration. I am also going to see the play, Motherhood tomorrow with a dear friend.  I've heard it's "pee in your pants funny!" I could use a few laughs! ; )
Have a great weekend!

Our Photo Shoot!

A couple of weeks ago, after posting Cortney's video, (You can view it HERE, I was contacted by a woman named Katie. She is the mother of 6 children and an incredible photographer.(5 boys +1 girl)  She had viewed the video and wondered if Cortney and Patty would want to do a bit of modeling. It was for a campaign that she and another person were advocating for, called, Changing the Face of Beauty. This other person, Steve, is the owner of a local floral shop in Beverly, IL, called Blossom Boys. He sells Fair Trade products and advertises using differently abled children and adults. Katie takes the photos and they advertise for not only Fair Trade, but to heighten awareness..... to get others to look past the disability and more at the person. Both Steve and Katie are amazing people, and both have a child with a disability. They are the most caring, generous people, who make you feel like you've known them your whole life. With this journey I've been on, God has sent me the most wonderful people to cross my path. I am blessed......truly.

Here are some of the pics from Saturday....

These two just make me smile.....

Here is all of us.  Katie is the one on the right and her cutie pie daughter is sitting on Patty's lap.

I am so glad you have stuck with me these past few days! I know it's been pretty photo heavy around here and not much crafting.  I appreciate you taking this journey with me too.  Your support means a lot to me.
I promise to be back tomorrow with something crafty!

19 Years.....

19 years ago, I was a young bride of just 21. Brian and I were high school sweethearts who fell head over heels for one another. We got married two weeks after I graduated from college. Many people placed bets that our marriage wouldn't last. We heard how young we were over and over. We were young. We had no idea the journey that lay ahead of us. But we persevered. We fought back. And through it all, we remembered to laugh amongst the tears we shed. We managed to keep a sense of humor even in the bleakest of moments.
I know it is cliche to say that he is my best friend, or my soul mate, but honestly, he is.  He is my amazing person. The one I truly couldn't live without. We are older now.....a bit wiser, but still very much in love...
Even after 19 years......
