JustRite's October Release-Morning Splendor!

Good morning and happy Saturday to you!
I hope you are enjoying JustRite's release as much as I am!
Today's set is called Morning Splendor and it is perfect for those of you who like to color.
My flowers were stamped on water color paper with Versamark and then embossed in white.
Created by Michele Kovack
I water colored the panel using my Zig Clean Brush markers.  I also sponged some Tim Holtz inks along the edges in brown, green, and yellow. I love using his inks because they react with water.  I splashed some water on the panel and created a bokeh effect.  Once the entire panel was dry I splattered a bit of black and stamped the sentiment.

I added silk ribbons from the Stamp Simply store and a scattering of black sequins.

We are headed out today with Cort to view the changing colors of fall.  It's my favorite time of the year, and I definitely want to take advantage of the sunshine today!
Have a great day and be sure to check in tomorrow!

JustRite's October Release--Wedding Inner Sentiments!

Good morning again! Today is day 2 of JustRite's October release! We are sticking with the wedding theme again today, with a fabulous new set called, Wedding Inner Sentiments. Of course, I decided they didn't just need to be for the inside of the card, so I used it on the outside! I stamped it with Staz On on clear acetate. The heart is an old Quickutz die and texture plate.

The panels are left overs from yesterday's card. I just couldn't throw them away, so I used them here. I popped them up with crafty foam tape and added a few sequins as a finishing touch.

JustRite's October Release-Grand Wedding Wishes!

Today is the first day of JustRite's October release!  The sets I will be sharing over the next few days are gonna knock your socks off! (Or flip flops depending on where you live! LOL!)
This first set is all about love and weddings! The set is called, Grand Wedding Wishes, and can be found HERE.   The font is gorgeous and I tried to make it the focal point of my card. The back panel and the main panel were given a wash of color with my Zig Clean Brush Markers.  I also splattered them both with a bit of black paint.

Once everything was dry, I took my Spellbinder's die and cut out the heart.  I stamped the sentiment and then added acetate and foam tape to create the shaker element.  I added a teeny felt flower, leaves, and a bit of ribbon.  To make the heart stand out a bit more, I added black dots around the perimeter.  For the final touch, I added a scattering of sequins.

They have used this set in such beautiful ways!

Fall Treat Bag!

Good morning! I am up on the SRM Blog today with a little fall treat bag! Between Cort's teachers and my coworkers, I am constantly looking for little, inexpensive ways to brighten someone's day! Slip a few pieces of chocolate into the bag and the day just seems to get a whole lot better! ;)
I water colored a Spellbinder's circle and two pumpkins from Quickutz. I added a bit of gold Stickles to the sides of the pumpkins for a little sparkle.

I added a bit of doily and patterned paper, a flower, ribbon, and a sticker from SRM's  sentiment/fall collection. Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Be Happy!

Good morning my friends!
I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog today, sharing this little number.
Life can be rough as you know and sometimes we just have to decide to, BE HAPPY!
It's not always easy though.
But we sail through those rough waters and try to find a bit of happy in each day. ;)
Lately water coloring makes me giddy.
I can't seem to stop and it inspires me. So that's how this card got started. A water color wash to the back panel in pinks, yellows, and git of gold.
be happy
I cut the leaves using my Silhouette and the flowers from Spellbinders. They were all cut on water color paper.  I used my Zig Clean Brush Markers to bring them to life.  I added a sentiment from SRM Stickers and gorgeous silk ribbon from the Stamp Simply store.
I used Crafty Foam tape for dimension and DODZ™ - Medium
to hold my flowers and ribbon in place.
be happy2
I have a 3 day weekend and am so grateful for this time to catch up around my house.  I have piles of laundry, dirty floors, and clothes that need to be switched for the season. (not my favorite job).
On the upside, I am going to dinner tonight to celebrate with dear friends.
:)
Have a wonderful weekend!!

Water Colored Pumpkins!

I was featured on the SRM Blog yesterday with this little number.  The pumpkin was cut from water color paper using my Silhouette.  I colored it with my Zig Clean Color Markers.  Once the pumpkin was dry, I added a thin coat of glossy accents and sprinkled it with glitter.  Each layer was popped up using Scrapbook Adhesives crafty foam tape.

The flowers were cut from felt.  The ribbon is from the Stamp Simply store.  I then added a sentiment from SRM's  Sentiment/Fall collection.

I added a doily to help "ground" the pumpkin.  A few sequins were all that was left to add! :)

Crafty Secret's Linky Party and Monthly Challenge!

Welcome to the October Crafty Secrets Linky Challenge and Blog Hop! Our theme this month is Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart. The design team was challenged to create a Thanksgiving themed project or a project that expresses thankfulness and gratitude. We hope you will join us for the hop, and then visit the Crafty Secrets BLOG where you can find a free download and details for entering the challenge yourself.

I am often asked how I create. I am a self proclaimed "tornado" scrapper!  I seriously have no rhyme or reason most of the time.  I tend to look at my focal image, like the one here from the Little Blessings, Creative Scraps collection, and start pulling items that are in the same color scheme. The strip of baby blue paper was a left over piece from the Birds and Bloom Digital Paper collection. Through a process of trial and error, I find things I like with the image....and things I don't.

I loved the browns and blues and picked coordinating colors with a pop of gold.  The delicious silk ribbon is from the Stamp Simply store. I threaded it through the Spellbinder's die I used for a bit more contrast. I added a scattering of gold sequins to finish it off!
