How About Some More News?

Can I share a bit more news with you?  I have been selected to be part of the Paper Loft Design Team!  If you are not familiar with this company, they are a paper company.  Who doesn't like paper? ; ) Many of their lines are nature inspired with a touch of whimsy.  So to honor the "theme" of their new line, Huckleberry Pond, I broke out the Campin' Critters cartridge to create this lil' back pack. It's perfect for holding a gift card!
I used a JustRite stamp from the Going Places Vintage Labels set to stamp the word Dad.  I just added a bit of twine, and a Maya Road button to finish it off.  There isn't one drop of glitter on this baby! ; )
Be sure to pop on over to the Paper Loft blog to meet the other designers and see their fabby projects!

I am shopping with my son this weekend......for a shirt, tie, and new pants for his homecoming dance next Saturday.  The poor kid must have grown about 2 inches since last fall.  He is nearing 6 foot 1 now.  Yep.  Tall. Just like his dad.
So you know this "Mammarazzi" will be taking a zillion photos next weekend!  : )
Have a great day and a great weekend!

More Becca Feekin's Kit Club for October!

Good morning!  Today is the last project I created using Becca Feekin's new October release. It uses soft colors, Spellbinder's dies (Decorative Labels eight and Vintage Frame Label and Spool Topper) , pearls, and that gorgeous sentiment in an incredible font.
I hope you have enjoyed the projects from this release! Today will be another day of incredible projects! Be sure to check them out!

Remember I said I had a bit of news?  My Cort has been part of a wonderful campaign called, Changing the Face of Beauty. It has been started and promoted by Katie Driscoll and Steve English. I've been lucky enough to meet them and have my daughter a part of this. The goal of this campaign is to get special needs kids out there as much as possible. In advertising, media etc.  The more people see our kids, the more acceptance there will be. Channel 7 news (ABC) contacted Katie and Steve to do a story about this campaign. They also wanted a mom and their child.....that's where Cort and I come in. How lucky are we?
So we had the experience of a lifetime!  That's me being interviewed by Karen Meyer, and the camera man setting me up with a microphone.
And while Katie took pictures of my girl....the camera man videoed like crazy! The piece will air sometime in late OCtober, early November.
On top of all of that good news, my girl is going to model for an Etsy shop....honestly it is like a dream come true.  Who would have thought this journey would have come to this destination? My Cortney a model?  People viewing her in a totally different light.  It's amazing. It's heartwarming. The stars have aligned for her.....for me. I can't express how much this whole journey has meant to me. And I appreciate you allowing me to share it with you.

Becca Feekin's Amazing Paper Grace Kit for October!

Good morning to you!  I am excited to share a few things I've created using Becca Feekin's October kit!  It is drop dead gorgeous and a total must have!  I adore the fonts, the sayings, the concept of this kit, and the beautiful vintage feel to it. I stamped the saying in olive ink and used various Spellbinder's dies to frame the saying.  My hubby bought me a Silhouette for my birthday.  ( I know I am totally "cheating" on my Cricut....but a girl can't have too many toys can she? ; )  So I downloaded a bunch of the flower cuts and used it for my card.
A few pearls and bit of ribbon finished it off.
Here are the coordinating dies.
And Becca's set in its entirety. SWOON!
I love the fact that the stamps and coordinating Spellbinder's dies are perfect for covering the ends of spools.  I decided to create a mini photo album using my spool.  I cut a length of paper to fit, and adhered mini photos to the inside of the paper.  I just tied it closed with a pretty lace ribbon.

Just untie the lace and you have your photos hidden inside!  A little trick is to print the photos on regular paper instead of photo paper.  It makes winding it around the spool a whole lot easier!
Be sure to check out what the other designers have created for this month's kit.....they are all stunning!
Have a great day my friends!!!

Happy Fall....

Good morning to you!  This is going to be a bit of a shoddy post due to the fact that I am sitting here desperately trying to remember what cartridges I used for this fall inspired card I created for the Cricut Circle last fall.  So if you happen to know, please leave a response here! This gal would really appreciate it! ; )   I do happen to know that the tag was cut from the Sentimental's cartridge and the stamp is by My Craft Spot.
Other than that, I got nothin'.  My mind is completely blank.  I'll blame it on the fact that it's Monday?
On a brighter note, I do have some pretty exciting news to share with you soon!  And it isn't craft related either! ; )  So stay tuned!
Have a great Monday!

Missing You.....

Today would have been my best friend's 41st birthday. She was taken 3 years ago suddenly.  She was my friend, my children's Godmother, my confidant, my "go-to" person.  We met at the age of 13, with our too big hair, our acid washed jeans, rolled socks, and 80's music playing somewhere in the background. We connected immediately.
And tonight her sister is honoring her memory with a dinner and drinks to toast this exceptional woman. She truly had a heart of gold....and there isn't a day that does by that I don't think of her....
This picture was taken on her wedding day....we hadn't gotten our dresses on quite yet...hence the denim and overalls!
How long ago it all seems....
So I thought I'd share this silly card.....she is probably smiling down on me. She didn't like serious.....she was about being "light" and fun.  She would appreciate this lil' card.
So this One's for you Jen!

This quick and easy card was created with the Imagine Machine and the Greeting Cards Inside and Out cartridge.  I just added a bit of glitter, lace, stick pin, and paper straw to make it a bit special.

Thank you for allowing me to share my heart with you a bit today.....

I Know...Baseball Season is Over....

Good morning! I know baseball is coming to an end and football season has begun....but I kind of forgot I had created this card over the summer! It uses a Crafty Secret's set called, Play Ball. I used my Tim Holtz Distress Markers to color it in. (Love those markers!) I love the watercolored/distressed effect they give to the image. Since I really couldn't use glitter or lace as an embellishment.....I opted for a baseball glove and baseball from the set. ; ) Oh, and a black pearl too! (That's manly right?)
I am off and running again this morning!  I have a meeting at Cort's school today to talk with her teacher and speech therapist.  We are looking into a new communication device for her and we are having a difficult time settling on a device.  So hopefully today we can come to some sort of agreement.  Sometimes this stuff wears me out.......but it has to be done....so I keep plugging away!
I hope you have a great day, and thank you my friends for visiting this blog.  It truly is my escape from the day and I love your visits!

A Guest and a Giveaway!

Happy Saturday to you!  I am excited to be guest designing today for the Cricut Fanatic's Blog! It is an honor to share my lil' creations over there with passionate Cricut users and getting to see some friendly, familiar faces!

Since I am a school teacher, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to create this little school house. I welded the images together using CCR and the Something to Remember cartridge. I created a bit of vintage charm with lace, glittered wooden buttons, twine, and flowers.

For my buttons I swiped a bit of white paint on them, sanded them back a bit, and gave them a coating of glitter.

I was going to do a giveaway on Monday for my birthday.....but time got away from me.  So instead let's celebrate the new Cricut Fanatic's blog! I will be giving all of this to ONE winner!  The giveaway includes: Cricut cartridge binder, 2 My Little Shoebox stamps.
All you have to do is leave a comment on the Cricut Fantatic's blog and a winner will be chosen there!  I will pick one winner on Monday night at 10 PM CST.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! : )
