Updated Kitchen!

Good morning!
I am so happy that school is over and my summer vacation is starting!
I will be able to concentrate on my kiddos a bit, and accomplish some things that have been long neglected.
Like my house.
And laundry.
Lots and lots of laundry!
We were looking for an economical way to update our kitchen and decided paint was the way to go.
Our cabinets were in pretty good shape but the color wasn't really what I wanted anymore.
So after many layers of white paint and some tarnished nickel handles......
This was the result. A much brighter, airier kitchen!
We are headed to the doc again for Cortney's 3rd wound care appt.   I can not tell you how frustrating this whole thing has been. This poor girl has been through so much....
Please continue to pray for healing.
Thank you all so very much!

Water Colored Roses

Good morning! I am up on the Scrapbook Adhesives Blog with this little number.
A water colored card using this gorgeous rose from Crafty Secrets.  I used my Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers to create an ombre paneled background.  I also used them to color my roses.
A bit of Stickles was added to the bottoms of the roses for a bit of sparkle.  I also added sequins, ribbon, and an SRM sticker sentiment. All of this was adhered using Scrapbook Adhesive's Dodz™. The flowers were attached using Crafty Foam Tape.
And just a quick update.....Cortney is still battling this infection.  She has gone to the wound care clinic twice and doesn't seem to be getting much better.  She will be going again this Friday.
Please continue to pray for my gal. She hasn't been herself and I miss my happy girl.

Bathroom Remodel!

Okay bathroom "remodel" might be a bit of a stretch! Our remodeling consisted of paint, new handles for the cabinets, a new ceiling light, and a change in decor. So the total cost of renovating our bathroom was under $500 bucks! You see, in the 90's hunter green and wallpaper were VERY popular.  We decided to finally catch up to the new millennium!  Can you see the lovely, yet very busy wallpaper?  And the extremely fashionable ceiling light?  Pretty right? ;)

The walls were painted a light grey, wallpaper torn down, new window coverings, cabinets painted white with new tarnished nickel handles, new drum light, and a cool piece of artwork from Minted.com. It is literally like walking into a breath of fresh air! It is so light and airy! I will have kitchen pictures to share tomorrow. We painted our cabinets in there as well and it is like a brand new kitchen! It is amazing what a bit of paint can do!

So What do you think?

Live Life to the Fullest.....

This weekend was Kyle's graduation party. I created a video for him to remind him to love life...and to live it to the fullest. This song from One Republic resonated strongly with me and I hope he listens to the lyrics and knows how much he is loved.

And of course I had to include a couple of photos from Saturday....one of him with his graduation bundt cake!

And the other with his most favorite gift!   (NOT!) But every college kid needs laundry detergent!  (He is NOT bring his dirty laundry home to me! ;)

Have a great day!!! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Water Colors.....

Good morning!
I have a card I made awhile back to share with you today. It was created on a night when I was sort of "goofing" around with water colors. My Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers to be exact.
I also used this pretty circle/flower die cut from Silhouette.
Michele Kovack
It was cut using water color paper and of course colored with the markers.  I added glossy accents for a bit more pop and dimension. I used several small flower sequins scattered about as well.
For a finishing touch, I tied ribbon and a bit of twine at the top.

Tomorrow is Kyle's graduation party, which means I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to clean, shop, and prepare for our guests!
And unfortunately, still dealing with Cortney's infection.  She went to wound care yesterday, where they debrided the wound. It is rather deep and makes me very nervous.
So prayers that it heals quickly and prayers that tomorrow goes off without a hitch! ;)
Have a wonderful weekend!

Crafty Secret's DT Challenge and Linky Party!

Good morning!  It is the start of a brand new month, which means it is also time for Crafty Secret's DT Challenge and Linky Party!
The theme this month was to make a masculine themed card in honor of the upcoming Father's Day celebration.
I have to admit that masculine cards are not my forte!
It's hard to justify glitter, bling, and doilies on a man's card! LOL!
I used a free printable that Sandy had offered awhile back.
I added a few circles to emulate fish bubbles, with a scattering of sequins, and a bow.
I don't know if adding ribbon is "allowed" on a man's card.....but in my world it is okay! ;)

I wanted my fish to be a bit shimmery (not glittery....just shimmery!) so I reached for my Wink of Stella pen.
I pulled out coordinating papers I printed from Crafty Secrets.

Added my "fish bubbles" and a bit of ribbon/twine.  I think adding the twine made it "legal" to add satin ribbon.  ;)

Be sure to head on over to the other design team member's blogs for more inspiration!
Have a great day!

Sing Out Loud!

Good morning!
It is hard to believe that it is nearly June...as I sit here in long pants and a sweater! It is only 50 degrees here! So I will think warm happy thoughts to get me through the day!
I have a bright little bird to share with you.
He seems happy and most importantly......WARM! ;)
It is a cute set by JustRite called, Sing Out Loud.  I embossed it in white and colored it with my Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers. (Love these markers!)
I layered the image using various dies from Spellbinders.  I added ribbon and a few sequins to complete the card.

I am heading out for a "date" with the husband today.  We celebrated 22 years of wedded bliss on Friday.  So we are going to a play, Billy Elliot, and then to a dinner where wine is served. ;)
No laundry or cleaning for me today!
Woohoo!
Have a wonderful Sunday!
(Even if it is quite chilly! BRRRR!)
