Smile!!

Good morning and happy (very chilly) morning!  Chicago is seeing frigid temperatures this next week.  Negative degrees.  yuck.  I am so ready for spring! I am in love with Whimsy Stamp's February 1st release!  I used the new Slimline Meadow Die.  I loved creating this little scene.  I added flock to the bunnies and glued teeny pom poms for their tails.

The background was done with a cloud stencil and the Sun Rays Stencil.  I stamped the Simple Sentiments Strips stamp set on red paper using Versamark ink.  I embossed it in white.  I added a teeny heart.  I also used the Smile Die.  A silk ribbon and twine were tied vertically to finish off the card.

*** Update****
My son completed his 5th week in Boot Camp and I received several letters from him.  I think I've read his letters 10 times already! He sounds good and is staying strong.  I am able to write to him, and my heart is so much lighter and happier! He has 6 more weeks to go! Pray for him please.  His safety, his mental well being, and strength.

Tuesday Tutorial!

Hello Whimsy Friends!
Michele here! I have a couple of cards to share with you using some of Whimsy's  Slimline dies. (Slimline Stars and Slimline Hearts) I am a pretty literal person, and tend to use products in the way that they were originally intended. I love the look of these when used as actual dies, but I thought it might be a fun change to use them as an embossed image instead. :)
When running through your embossing machine, you want the die on the bottom, cardstock on top of it.

Place your rubber mat over the paper/die.  You may have to "loosen" up your die cutting machine, as this is pretty thick.  I crank it through twice, to get a deep impression.
This is the result.  I love the texture it gives!!
I decided to use Whimsy's adorable Slimline Birthday Scallops Die.  I cut the candles with various colors of card stock and gave them a bit of ink blending for some added depth.
I popped up the candles using 3D Foam Squares.
I used the insides of the candles for a confetti background.  Added a bit of ribbon, flowers and leaves from the Build-a-Pumpkin Patch Die set.
The sentiments are part of the Simple Sentiment Strips Clear Stamps.  They were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in white.
Here's another card using the Slimline Hearts Background Die.  I adhered the embossed panel over grey card stock and added the Smile sentiment and a few flowers from the new Slimline Meadow Die set.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Whimsy Stamp's February Release!

Hello friends!
It's a brand new month and that means it is time for new release from Whimsy Stamps!
This pretty image is appropriately called, Basket.  I pulled out my Karin Brushmarkers to water color this image.  I have it a splattering of white acrylic paint and stamped it using sentiments from the Simple Sentiments.
The background was created using the Farmhouse Greenery Stencil and texture paste.  I cut out the image using Pierced and Stitched Circles Die.  I adhered a bit of ribbon, posies, and a couple of leaves I cut using the Build-a-Pumpkin set. A few clear droplets were also added from the Salt Water Sparkletz

Be sure to pop over to Whimsy to see the full release! :)

Hang in There

It seems that this past year has left many of us battered and bruised.
I love that Whimsy Stamps acknowledges the challenges we are all facing right now. This cute set is the perfect pick me up for that special person in you life, who needs to open a smile.  It is called, Bearly Hanging On.  Don't we all feel that way some days?
This set does double duty, though, because it includes sentiments for the new parent too!
I colored this image with Copics and used the new Connected Hearts Frame.
The background paper is from the new 6 x 6 Baby Bear Pack.   I wanted to break up the pattern a bit, so I used the Wonky Window Die with white paper. Ribbon was added, as well as a few teeny hearts.

Just a quick update, my son is now officially at boot camp.  He was very lucky to only have quarantine for two weeks.  For the next few days he is in "P-Days."  This is all of their shots, medical, paperwork etc.  The real fun will start by the end of this week.  Please keep him in your prayers.  It has been difficult not seeing or talking with him, but no news is good news in the military.  In the mean time, I will be keeping busy with school and my crafting.  ;)

Whimsy Stamp's January Release!

I have fallen in love with this sweet bear family. 💗
They are part of the new Bearly Hanging on set.  I stamped it with waterproof ink on water color paper.  I masked the image off and used a cloud stencil for the background.  I splattered it with white acrylic paint for a dreamy effect.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white.  The image itself was colored using Karin Brushmarkers.  Once it was dry, I added glossy accents and glitter to the moon.
I used the new 6 x 6 paper pack, Baby Bear.  I used a teeny heart from the Sweetheart Sprinkletz collection.
Be sure to check out the entire release over at Whimsy!
Thank you for stopping by!

Warm Winter Wishes

Hello friends!
I have a wintery card to share today using Whimsy Stamp's new Slimline Woodland Cottage die.  I used it with watercolor paper.  I used the Karin Brushmarkers to color in each part of the image.  I then splattered it with white acrylic paint for a snowy effect.
I wanted the background to have some subtle texture, so I used the Pinwheels Stencil.  I added glossy accents to the snowy parts and lots and lots of glitter!  I heat embossed the sentiment and glued a few Sparkletz Crystal Stars to finish off the image.

Thank you for popping by today! :)
