Sometimes Simple Cards are the Best.....

Most of my cards are ridiculously detailed. I love adding unexpected touches.  But sometimes, just sometimes less is more. I love my Peerless Watercolors and have had a blast creating pretty backgrounds and such.  And I definitely have a thing for orange/yellow, and pink.
I created a watercolor wash for the background.  I added a strip of glitter tape and a sentiment from Spellbinders.      It was generously coated with glossy accents and glitter. A bit of twine and a few sequins finished off the card.
As minimal as this chick gets! HA!
It is another frosty, frigid morning here.
Hoping my van starts so I can get this booty to school.
Wish me luck!
Have a great day!

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep

Good morning! It is a chilly -9 degrees here in Chicago! Brrrrr!
The upside is that the kids and I have the day off!
That gives me a bit of time to spend with them, get caught up on laundry and cleaning, and maybe, if I am lucky, do a bit of crafting.
Of course the reality is that I will be going to school until the middle of June.
Guess I will worry about that in......June. ;)
I have a sweet little Crafty Secrets card to share today using a new digital set called, Bedtime Kids.
I colored the image using my Peerless watercolors. Once dry I added a bit more depth with my Copic markers. I cut out the image using an oval Spellbinder's die and backing it with a scalloped oval. The paper behind were scraps that I adhered to card stock on an angle.  I didn't have the heart to throw them away, so they made their way onto my card.  ;)
I added some ribbon and a few clusters of flowers.....or bally thingys....or whatever you call them!
Stay warm my friends!
(Unless you live somewhere warm.....in which case I am totally jealous!) ;)

Dream

Some days ya just gotta play.
No design team commitments. No deadlines.
I had a bit of time yesterday, on my day off, to play around with supplies that I recently rediscovered while cleaning my craft room.  I have a huge stash of felt flowers and never seem to use them anymore. I had this idea that they would look cute tucked under something.
I cut my designer paper (Doodlebug circa old!) on an angle and popped it up with dimensional foam tape from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.  I then tucked and glued my flowers in place.  I used another Dear Lizzy die cut.  I gave it a coating of glossy accents and glitter.  I adhered it in place.  I added a few sequins as a finishing touch.
Have a great day my friends!

Love....

We met 27 years ago at the Burger King Drive thru. I was working, he was with his friends. Romantic start eh?
We were just silly, immature teens,16 & 19.
We started dating in high school, and then continued through college.
We got married the same year I graduated.
Talk about a crazy summer!
"You're too young," they said.
"You should date other people," they said.
People placed bets that our marriage wouldn't last.
Boy, were they wrong!
I would be lying if I didn't say we've had our share of ups and downs.
We have had curve balls thrown our way. Many of them.
Shaker with sequins!
But I can honestly say that this man right here has made me laugh more times that I can count, especially when I all I wanted to do was cry.
He has supported my crazy dreams. (What dad sits at a beauty pageant for his daughter all day?)
He believes in me....our children...our future.
He respects me and loves me for who I am.
He is kind.
And did I mention he is funny? ;)
Yep, a man who can make me laugh.....is the best kind of man!
So on this Valentine's Day, I wish all of you love and friendship!
And laughter.
Lots of laughter.
:)

Valentine Treat!

Good morning! Happy hump day to you! I wanted to make something Valentine-y for a special someone. I decided on one of the many milk bottles I had purchased awhile ago.  I tied various ribbons in reds and pinks around the bottle and knotted each one.  A drop of glue was all that was needed to secure each one in place.

I had this tag left over from another project I was working on and thought it was perfect here.  It is a stamp set from Jane's Doodles called, Life is Good.  Did you know that SRM stickers now carries Jane's Doodles stamps?  The tag was stamped and cut out by hand.  I stamped the heart in pink and the sentiment in black.  I tied it around the top of the bottle to finish off this quick Valentine idea!

No Valentine's Day would be complete without a few pictures of Myla! LOL! She is the most cooperative dog I've ever photographed! The balloons were left over from the photo shoot with Cortney. Why let them go to waste? That seems to be the motto of my life most days! HA!

And one last item for today! I am up on the SRM Blog with a bright happy project! Be sure to check it out! ;) SRM Stickers Blog - Colorful Clear Purse by Michele - #clearpurse #containers #gift #thankyou #doilies #stickers #punchedpieces

JustRite's February Release-Best Wishes!

Today is the last day of JustRite's February release!  I hope you  have enjoyed all of the new stamps!  Today's set is called, Best Wishes.  I opted to stamp the flowers so that they would frame my sentiment.  I stamped them using black Memento ink. I then  took JustRite's Crackle background and stamped directly over it.   I used my Copic markers to color the flowers/leaves.

I did lots of hand sewing on the background and added a sunflower using my Silhouette. I added a bit of doily and some coordinating ribbon.

For more ways to use this pretty set, be sure to pay the other talented ladies a visit!
