Thanksgiving Eve

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving Eve to you! I have today off and feel blessed to have been able to sleep in and let my body fight off this virus.  I feel a bit better, more rested, and ready to tackle my "to do" list today.  I have some cooking and baking to do, and a table to set.  Tomorrow I will be surrounded by family and good food.  I owe them a good meal....since they've had to put up with my foul mood this past week! ; )

I am likely not going to be on the computer much tomorrow, so I thought I'd share my last fall project with you before the Christmas bug hits! I found these adorable pumpkin boxes on the Silhouette site and knew I had to have them.  They were super easy to make and paired perfectly with JustRite's Autumn Words     set. (This set is being retired, so grab it now while it's on sale!) I stamped the leaves in oranges, reds, and greens, and cut them out by hand.  The pumpkins' leaves were created with old sheet music and dosed with a generous amount of glitter.
Every pumpkin needs a stem, so I inserted the stems from silk flowers I had on hand.  A bit of rustic twine finished them off.
May you and your families have a blessed Thanksgiving....
And as always, thank you for visiting me....

Amazing Paper Grace Kit #4!

Well in case you were worried, I made it through parent/teacher conferences. ; )  It was a rough night with a few coughing spells.  Today is  a half  day today, and then I am getting this booty into the doctor's! Cort ended up staying home yesterday.  She still isn't 100% back to normal either.  Hopefully, all of this is ending soon...fingers crossed!

Now, on to my card!  Becca Feekin and JustRite Papercrafts have done it again! They have created another stunning kit for this month.  The stamp set is called, What Defines Us.  It has beautiful sayings, and of course true to Becca style, a beautiful font.
I decided to create this little card.  Some close friends have been going through some rough spells.
This card is a gentle reminder....
The rose was colored using Tim Holtz Distress Markers.   I love the watercolored look of it. I did add a bit of sparkle too!  The green, silk ribbon is from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply store.
I love the dies included in this kit....
Here is the kit in its entirety.

Autumn Blessings

Good morning to you all!  I wish I could say that I felt better, but the reality is, I don't.  Not one bit.  I have this relentless cough.  My back hurts. My chest hurts. My everything hurts.  And the worst part?  I have parent/teacher conferences tonight.  A night where all I do is talk.  (and cough....and cough.....)
On the upside,  Cortney is feeling better and hopefully we can keep her on the right track with everything.
I have another Crafty Secret's card to share with you today.  It again uses the Thanksgiving Digital kit.  This includes the papers and cute pilgrim image I used here.
I colored them with Copic markers and cut them out.  I thought they would make a perfect "frame" to my resin frame!
Glossy Accents was added to the wish bone to give it a bit of depth and make it a bit more sturdy.
I added a bit of ribbon and some pretty posies.
Wish me luck today!
Hopefully I don't infect every single parent! ; )

Autumn

It has been a crazy draining week.  First off, I've been fighting a nasty cold that just does not want to go away.  It is making me tired, achy, and just down right miserable.  Secondly, my girl had been crying and seemed to be in pain all week.  She has limited communication skills, so trying to pinpoint what is bothering her can be difficult.  She wasn't bearing weight on her left leg, laying down was causing her to cry more, and she started telling us, "leg hurt."  So naturally we thought of a dislocated hip.  (She already has a condition called subluxed hips, where dislocation can happen pretty easily.)  We took her to Shriner's hospital for children, had the X-ray done, and found out her hip was completely normal.
Unfortunately, the X-ray did show that her intestines were completely blocked.  This was the source of her pain.  This weekend will be dedicated to making her feel better.....if you know what I mean. Poor kid.   And on top of all of that?  My puppy needs to go to the vet somewhere in between the other things that need to be done.  Her tear ducts are infected, which is causing her to have very stinky tears.

Aren't you glad you stopped by today? ; )  TMI right?

I DO however, have a card to share with you today created from the Crafty Secret's Thanksgiving Downloadable kit.  I simply printed the image and papers directly from my computer. I layered my image with my papers and tied a bit of seam binding to "tie" it all together.
I was inspired by the stalk of wheat in the picture, so I decided to create my own.  I created it with pieces of burlap, tied it at the bottom, and added a crocheted doily to the top of it.  I snuck a little stick pin in there as well.
I hope after this weekend that we all, including the puppy, start to feel better.  The holidays are around the corner, and no one wants to be sick for that! ; )

JustRite's November Release!

Good morning to you!  I have a card to share with you today that uses another brand spankin' new set from JustRite. The set is a fabulous masculine set called, Premium Labels.  I can never have enough birthday cards in my stash, so that's what I decided to create! ; )  The star shaped card was cut using my Cricut.  I cut it 5 times and hand cut each point to the star.  I pieced it back together on the card itself to give it a homey quilted look.  I stamped happy birthday in navy and the rest in red.
The center circle was cut using a Spellbinder's circle die.  It was popped up using dimensional foam circles. I added a few rhinestones, rustic twine, and a stick pin to finish it off.
Here is the entire set.....
Be sure to pop on over to the other designers' blogs for more inspiration using this set!

JustRite's November New Release!

Good morning to you!  I am happy to share with you today and tomorrow a couple of JustRite's new November releases! JustRite has come out with two new bird background stamps.  Both are exquisite.  I worked with Song Bird.  I stamped it on kraft paper in black ink. I colored it with Copic makers.  The bird was stamped an additional time and popped up with dimensional foam circles.  I added a bit of seam binding, a wooden button, and some crystal effects to the flowers' centers.
I also stamped the image on a Maya Road flag.  I colored it once again with the Copic markers.  I used a Petaloo stick pin as its partner.

Be sure to visit the other designers' blogs to see their beautiful creations!
