Zombies!

Hello my friends!
Whimsy is celebrating Halloween all month long, so I will have lots of fun projects to share with you!
How about this deliciously scary zombie card?  It is called Zombie Herd. I colored it with Copic markers and tried to give their faces a sort of dead appearance by adding shades of purple.
This is definitely a different card for me, as I tend to be sort of cutesy or feminine.  But I had a great time coloring it.  I added sentiments using Versamark ink and white embossing powder.  I layered over red card stock using Crafty Foam Tape.  I didn't think this card was suitable for glitter or sequins! LOL! So I kept it pretty simple.
Are you a fan of scary Halloween or cutesy Halloween? Just curious!

31 Days of Halloween!

Hello friends! Michele here! I am so excited to participate in Whimsy Stamp's 31 Nights of Halloween Blog Celebration!  So much goodness right there at the Whimsy Blog! each and every night in October! AND....there are prizes to be won too! ;) More about today's contest at the end of this post.

For my card I used Flying Cat Witch. Because honestly, who doesn't think a flying cat on a broom is adorable?
I stamped the kitty and then masked it so I could create the moonlit background.  I cut a circle and used both the positive and negative space to ink the background using Tim Holtz Distress inks in purple and yellow.   I peeled the mask off and brought the cat to life using Polychromo pencils.

For the purple panel, I used Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles and layered everything using Crafty Foam Tape.  I added a green and white twine and alphabet letters to spell out the word, BOO.  I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ivory to add a few "stars" to the background.

Would you like to win a $15.00 Gift Certificate for Whimsy Stamps?  Just comment on the Whimsy Blog us if you dress up for Halloween and if you do, what are you dressing as?  A random winner will be selected on Halloween night!
And in case you were wondering...yes, I am dressing up for Halloween. I am a 4th grade teacher and the students absolutely LOVE that the teachers dress up.  So what am I going to be?

Rainbow Birthday!

Happy Monday to you! It has rained in Chicago all weekend, so I needed to create a card that wasn't as gloomy as the weather.  I used Whimsy Stamp's Array of Rainbows Die set and went die cutting crazy! I started piecing them together to create, I think, an interesting background.  I coated it with glossy accents.
I cut the sentiment using the Birthday Word and Shadow Die.  The candle is from the Calories Schmalories set.  I colored it with Copics and added Stickles to the top.  I placed it right over where the letter i would be.

I added sheer polka dot ribbon to the top and a few gem stones here and there.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Jingle Owl the Way!

 Good morning!
I feel like it's been a hot minute since my last post.  Life has been extremely busy and I think maybe I need to hire a secretary for my life.  ;)
I have a card today featuring Whimsy Stamp's newest set called, Happy Owlidays! The images are so stinking cute!
I used Prisma Colored pencils to bring this little cutie to life.  I used a fine black felt tip pen to draw in the lashes, eyes, beak, and bells.  I filled in the antlers, bells, and eyes with glossy accents. I added Stickles to create snow and even added snowflakes to the background.
I layered the card stock with Crafty Foam Tape and tied a silk ribbon to the top.  I embellished it with red/white twine and a couple of red jingle bells. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in white.
Thank you for stopping by today!

Happy, Colorful, Fall!

Hi friends!
Hope you had a great week!
I have a new card using Whimsy Stamp's new Falling Leaves Background stamp.  I stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed it in white.  I used my Zig Clean Color markers.  I decided a non traditional color scheme, as I think I am still a bit in "summer mode." I added a few water colored leaves from the Build-a-Pumpkin-Patch set.   I added a strip of white card stock, ribbon, leaves and a few gold sequins. I layered everything using Crafty foam tape.
The sentiment was cut using the Bold ABC Die set and a happy die from my stash. I added Stickles to the word, Fall for added sparkle.
Thanks so much for visiting today!

Vintage Fall

Good morning!
I have a new fall card using Whimsy Stamp's September releases! I used their awesome new die set called, Build-a-Pumpkin Patch.   I used my Zig Clean Color markers to bring the die cuts to life.  Once everything was dry, I splattered white acrylic paint.
I used the new Slimline Marquee die with kraft card stock.  I love the wonky windows of this die! I backed each window with vintage music paper.  I adhered a piece of a paper doily to each window.  I adhered the pumpkins with Crafty Foam tape for added dimension.
I added twine and pearls to each pumpkin/leaves cluster.  The thanks is from the Thanks Word and Shadow Die.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

New Release From Whimsy Stamps!

Good morning! Today is my 48th birthday! My husband took me away this past weekend to downtown Chicago.  We kayaked on the Chicago River, walked our beautiful city, had pizza, and went to a Comedy Club.  I am truly blessed to be married to a man for 26 years and still treat me like we are still dating.  :)

My card today uses Whimsy's new die set, Build-a-Pumpkin Patch.  I die cut everything using water color paper.  I colored it using Zig Clean Color Markers.
After everything was dry, I splattered white acrylic paint over everything. I assembled the leaves and twine at the stem.
The sentiment was stamped from an old sentiment stamp I had in my stash.  I cut the ends to look like a banner and tucked it under the leaves.
Have a wonderful day today! Thank you for stopping my little corner!
