Mermaid Dreams

Good morning! It is becoming that part of the summer where I cram every single doctor appointment in before I go back to school.  Today starts with the dentist. Don't be jealous! ;)

I have a Whimsy Stamp's card today using last month's release called, Mermaid Alexis.
I stamped the image using Versafine black ink which is water proof, so I could use my Zig Water color markers.
After the image was dry, I placed it back in my Misti so I could line up the sentiment. I die cut the image and added Stickles and some white pen details.  I added clear gems from the Sparkletz, Lucky Charms collection.
Have a great day in whatever your day brings! :)

Cupcake Tower!

Good morning!  I hope you are all doing well! We just had record heat in the 100's with 100% humidity this past weekend, so we stayed indoors quite a bit. This is the time I still wish I had a pool!
Anyway, I have a card to share with you today using Whimsy Stamp's Calories Schmalories set.  This has to be one of my most favorite sets!
I did quite a bit of masking so I could stack the cupcakes.
While the masks were in place I used Distress Ink in Spun Sugar around the cupcakes to give it a soft pink glow.  I removed the masks and colored in rainbow colors with Copic markers.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed in white.  I added Stickles to the frosting, glossy accents to the straw.

I created a "table top" for my cupcakes to sit on by stamping the new Curly Q Background stamp in black.
I adhered a bunch of gems....maybe a bit too many?  I think I went a little bit crazy.  ;) I just can't help it, this girl loves sparkle!
Thank you for stopping! And thank you to the gal who commented on my last post.  It helped me fix my blog and get rid of those annoying water marks!
Have a great day friends!

Sea Otter 3 Ways!

Good morning!
First I have to apologize for my blog right now. I am aware that it has the Photobucket watermark all over it.  I am in the process of getting my blog revamped.  Not sure why all of a sudden this watermark is popping up. I wish I were a bit more techy!
So please bare with me!
Today I have 3 cards using Whimsy Stamp's new Adorable Otters set.  For this first card I used my Zig Clean Color markers.
I used the new Curly Q's background stamp to add a bit of contrast. I stamped it in Versamark on black paper and embossed it in white. I popped the water colored otter on top of the embossed background using Crafty Foam Tape.  (LOVE this stuff!) I added ribbon and decided I needed an itty bitty flower.  I used the Build a Garden die set on water color paper.  Popped it on the card with a bit of white string and a gem for the center.
My next two cards I created a mask using an oval die and masking paper.  I stamped the otter in Versafine black ink (Because it is waterproof and perfect for watercoloring) and masked him off.  I used Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers. I spritzed it with water while the mask was still in place. I removed all of the masks and colored the otter with Zig Clean Color markers.  I stamped the sentiment in Versafine black.  The heart was stamped in Versamark and embossed in pink. I added a few hearts from the Love Hearts Sparkletz collection.

This last card I did the same masking as above but changed the colors a bit.  I used Distress Ink in Mermaid Lagoon.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it in white.  I added a few red sequins and gems from the Peppermint Jazz Sparkletz collection to finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by and putting up with this crazy blog!  Hopefully I can get it fixed soon! If you can recommend someone who does blogs, please let me know!

Can I Moose be Feminine?

You know how you start a card and sometimes, just sometimes, it ends up going in a direction you hadn't intended?  But then you realize that you've spent an hour of your life creating such card? So what does a crafter do? Roll with it!
When I first saw this stamp, Moose Scene, I thought perfect...this is great for all of the men in my life.
Mmmmmmm...
Do men like pinks and pastels? ;) Maybe.
Or I have a girlfriend who lives in Alaska that might adore this card?
Anyway, not sure how it turned out so feminine.....but it did.
I used my Zig Clean Color markers directly to the rubber using my Misti.  I love this technique because you can stamp repeatedly and change up the colors as you go.  I added white gel pen lines to the trees because to me, they looked like Birch trees. I cut the image out using the Shaker Maker Rectangle Die.  I layered it on white and kraft card stock using the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle Dies.
I added the birthday die cut and a scattering of stars from the Sparkletz, Lucky Charms set.

So there you have it....a feminine moose birthday card!  (Say that 5 times fast!) ;)
Have a great day my friends!!

Snail Mail

Good morning! I am back from my trip to Colorado and what a trip it was! Super active, fun, and tiring!  We rode our bikes down Pikes Peak, White water rafted, horseback rode, hiked, and ate like pigs! I am trying now to get back into my "normal" routine.  :)
So today I have a new card using Whimsy Stamp's Gnome Matter What set.
I just love this little guy!
I colored the image with Copics, added Stickles and Glossy Accents to the mushroom and flower center.  I used the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die. I backed it with red polka dot paper from my stash and tied twine to the top.  As a finishing touch I adhered several stars from the Sparkletz Crystal Stars collection.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by!
Have a wonderful day!

Whimsy's July Release!

Good morning!  I am super excited to share Whimsy's newest stamp set for July, Calories Schmalories!  It is honestly the cutest set ever! Of course I love anything having to do with food. ;)
This sweet little cupcake was just asking to be water colored.
So I obliged and used my Zig Clean Color markers.
I fussy cut the cupcake and decided I needed a little flower.  I've been adding flowers to everything lately....even cupcakes! So I used the teeny flower and leaf from the Build-a-Garden die set. I water colored that as well and adhered it to my cupcake.  I water colored the back panel and decided I needed my cupcake to pop a bit so I cut out a circle using the Pierced and Stitched Circle Die.

I stamped the word happy directly on the circle and adhered the cupcake using Crafty Foam tape.  I used the brand new die, Birthday Word and Shadow die. For a finishing touch I added a scattering of gems to the background.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
